Full Moon in Gemini - December 2024

We’re approaching the final Full Moon of 2024 this weekend. Take a moment to pause, take a deep breath, and honor where you are today. Feel proud of how far you’ve come. Whatever 2024 brought your way—the ups, the downs—you’re here. This is the moment to honor yourself more than ever. The final Full Moon is a powerful moment to help you release any heaviness or anything you no longer wish to carry into the new year.

On Sunday, December 15, the Full Moon illuminates in the twin sign of Gemini, representing our soul and body–our immortality and mortality. This dynamic reflects the dance of life between our physical body, or ego, and our eternal soul that exists beyond the physical realm. While in this dance, it’s easy to forget the temporariness of it all and get stuck in the heaviness of the physical realm. The Gemini Full Moon reminds us to honor both body and soul—not to neglect our responsibilities or stresses of the physical realm, but to strive for balance across all aspects of who we are. We are both human and being.

Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion is activated during the Full Moon in Gemini. Emotions may be heightened or feeling bigger than they may need to be. If you are feeling exhausted, burnt out, and overwhelmed, lean on Jupiter to help focus on the positive side or the silver lining of your situation. Shifting our perspective is a theme of this Full Moon and Jupiter can be your best friend to aid this mindset. 

December 15 marks the final day of Mercury in retrograde. Mercury is the planet of communication, travel, networks, and data. Since November 25, 2024, Mercury’s retrograde has brought confusion, miscommunication, misinformation, travel delays, and unexpected snafus that disrupt our daily flow. As Mercury stations direct after the Full Moon, the mental load you’ve been carrying should feel lighter, offering a greater sense of clarity. The Full Moon in Gemini may have us feeling overwhelmed and scattered, but we can return to the message of the Gemini twins. We must navigate the limitations and obligations of the physical body while also being an endless, unshakable soul—one that has been through it all, seen it all, and knows that eternal love is our core.

This weekend is a great time to be social and enjoy the company of friends and neighbors. Your kids might want a playdate, or maybe you’ll plan one for yourself—a coffee or brunch date with a friend. You might also feel inspired to learn something new, pick up a new book, or sign up for a course. This is one of my favorite Full Moons of the year because Gemini reminds us not to take life too seriously and to simply enjoy it!
